As a professional microbiologist and mycologist with over 50 years of experience, I was formerly a founder and Principal Mycologist at MouldLab, which became one of Australia’s leading laboratories specializing in environmental mycology, as it relates to indoor environments and the health of occupants. We continue to provide quality consulting and analytical services to the environmental microbiology/mycology sector - our company, NSJ EnviroSciences Pty Ltd, continues to provide you with consultancy, litigation/expert witness support, special projects & research.We also specialize in applying PCR & NGS technology to understand the spectrum of microbial colonization of our envirobiome – the space we share with the organisms in our world. We provide responsive telephone support and are happy to help you with any questions you might have.As a consultant mycologist to many mold remediators, I have supervised mold-focused projects in several overseas locations & states of Australia. Additionally, when litigation is contemplated, I can undertake local and interstate assessments and assist clients with solutions to their mold problems, advising on microbial sampling, HVAC assessments, indoor fungal ecology & new mold remediation methods. During my time in microbiology and mycology, I have been admitted to several professional organizations, including the Indoor Air Quality SIG of the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand. In addition, I continue to maintain current professional contact with advances in the industry and relevant science. In 2009, I undertook a course in the Mycology of Food & Airborne Fungi at Centraalbureau Voor Schimmelcultures Fungal Biodiversity Centre in Utrecht, The Netherlands, to continue my professional mycology training and have presented and published research papers and posters internationally. I returned to Utrecht in 2015 to successfully undertake their Medical Mycology Course.
