I have over 30 years experience in technology development in the areas of heavy oil/bitumen recovery, thermal reservoir simulation and greenhouse gas sequestration. I have contributed to two patents and three books and authored/co-authored more than 100 technical publications.I have provided training courses and invited speeches worldwide in Canada, U.S., China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Kuwait, U.A.E., México, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú, Trinidad and Tobago, Surinam, U.K., France, The Netherlands, Portugal, Tunisia.I am a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Canada. I have actively served on various Technical Programme Committees for SPE Heavy Oil Applied Technology Workshops (ATWs) /Forums/Conferences, Canadian International Petroleum Conferences (CIPC), and World Heavy Oil Congresses (WHOC). I am a SPE 2010-2011 Distinguished Lecturer.I have retired from Schlumberger in September 2015 and have setup my own company, DJLaws Technologies Inc., as part-time consultant and training course instructor.
