Summary:I have been a solicitor since 1984 and since 2008 have run my own independent solicitor’s practice of David Laws Solicitors specialising in litigation/dispute resolution (see www.davidlaws-solicitors.com). In 2019 I launched a new, separate arm of the business called ‘Lawsonline’ that operates in a different way that’s really appreciated by clients. It is a unique means of delivering specialist legal services with fixed quotes for specific tasks or advice that gives the client control of both their case and their costs budget and reduces costs (through an unbundled service) by enabling clients to use their own time and resources as much as possible but with the benefit of legal guidance. That dispute resolution side of things has involved me in the conduct of a wide range of issues, varying in scale and complexity – some in the £millions and others quite literally at the other end of the scale. Throughout them all, I have always had a very strong desire to achieve justice for my clients, whatever the level of their legal issue.
