Working for an environmental consultancy I carry out Decent homes/ HHSRS surveys on a variety of contracts in addition to legionella risk assessments. This includes work on a nationwide contract where houses have been compulsory purchased involving a wide variety of residential buildings including multi million pound properties. During this work I have gained experience identifying building defects and health and safety issues which has given me a greater understanding of buildings pathology.

In addition to carrying out asbestos air monitoring and surveying work, I acted as Deputy Quality Manager for a small asbestos consultancy. This involved carrying out vertical audits, quality checking reports before they were issued to clients and ensuring all equipment was calibrated. I also completed survey drawings on Microsoft Visio.

Working for a large Nationwide Asbestos Consultancy I carried out air monitoring duties including Clearance tests on all material types (Boarding, Insulation and Sprayed Coatings). I also carried out surveys as a lead surveyor in a large variety of properties. I carried out both Management Surveys and Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys.

Working for a large Nationwide Asbestos Consultancy I carried out air monitoring activities including personal air testing, 4 Stage Clearances, Reassurance testing and Contractor Compliance. During this time I worked on a very large year long job at a large department store in Leeds. Whilst here I had to ensure that all asbestos was removed from the building and had to liaise with the client and other contractors on site. This had a large amount of responsibility and helped me develop my organisational and communication skills.;

Working for a large company producing car parts for use with Nissan cars I was working in the design change control department. This involved ensuring the materials used on the shop floor for parts were the same as the parts on the computer system. This job helped to develop my ability to prioritise my workload and also gain better computer skills.
