Executive and main Board Director of Personal and Commercial Lines and Direct Insurance. Was responsible for the change management programme and modernisation of the business to a “Direct Line” model, which included a relaunch of all product lines. Increased the profitability over 3 years from £30m to £100m by managing the key drivers of the business.

Created the Change Programme in NatWest UK, fundamentally changing the face of HR management, and re-engineered all processes and practices throughout the UK. Led the strategic direction and integration of HR management into the business strategy. Responsible for national recruitment, training, management development, talent management, succession planning and direction of change programmes for core UK-based businesses of around 90,000 people.

300+ Branches, 9 Business Centres, 3,900 staff, profit contribution of £120m per annum. Was responsible for growth, business development, customer services and relationships across 300+ branches. Directed business strategy, operations and delivery of all the Corporate and Retail Banking Services. Created and implemented the organisation’s pilot models of the current-day service and call centres. Oversaw branch development, premises, IT and HR-related issues.
