I was responsible for the digital transformation of the bank in Latin America, which included the implementation of the world-class Temenos omni-channel core banking platform first in Mexico then Chile. It involved the integration of numerous third-party IT solutions to enhance customer experiences, introduce new products, and offer innovative services.My key responsibilities included:- Serving as the digitalization sponsor and leading the Executive Committees of the projects.- Managing all aspects of project fronts, from planning and design to development and testing: functional, migration, integration, change management, quality assurance (testing), process enhancements, and technical considerations . We transitioned from a Waterfall methodology to Agile.- Overseeing internal and external project stakeholders, including local teams, support centers in the United States, Swift and Datawarehouse teams in Tokyo, Temenosr, EY as consultants, integrators, external developers, and Fintech application providers.- Establishing the project team, which included project managers (PM), project management office (PMO), functional and technical leaders. I was also responsible for hiring external consultants and technical subcontractors.- Negotiating contractual agreements with vendors, in collaboration with the BTMU NY legal team, covering licenses, implementation, and services.- Conducting a comprehensive review and optimization of the bank's core processes in light of the new solution: gap analysis, assessing the current and desired states (As-Is/To-Be), evaluating impacts, and implementing structural changes, including the creation of a middle office.- In 2019, following Tokyo´s decision to transform the Bank in Chile in a rep office, I assumed the role of project lead for the transformation, overseeing various aspects such as negotiation with the regulator, compliance, legal, tax, HR, operational adjustments, and organizational restructuring."

In this capacity, I have achieved several significant accomplishments:- Strategic Restructuring and Competency Enhancement: I lead the restructuring and optimization of key departments to align them with future growth objectives. Additionally, I provided leadership coaching to nurture the development of my team members.- Financial Process Enhancement: I undertook a comprehensive review and overhaul of accounting processes and methodologies, including costing, inventory valuation (WACC) approach, and compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). - Process Optimization: I led the review and revitalization of the company's core processes, overseeing the development and integration of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that combined Infor Mapics with tailor-made solutions.- Internal Control Implementation: I established rigorous internal controls and standardized procedures to enhance operational efficiency and accountability.- Financial Management: My role involved managing critical financial functions, such as treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, foreign exchange risk hedging, credit management, collections, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate seamless operations.- Successful Acquisition: I executed a strategic acquisition in Peru, where I played a central role in due diligence, acquisition negotiations, and integration efforts. As the head of group financing, I assumed a central role in steering the financial course through a period marked by the LBO, the IPO and the challenging backdrop of the subprime crisis, which witnessed the drying up of ABCP - Asset backed Commercial Paper markets, thereby posing a threat to the company's securitization program. My significant accomplishments and core responsibilities encompassed:- Strategic Financial Negotiations: Successfully negotiated a complex IFRS deconsolidating securitization for US entities, as well as led a substantial 600 million EURO Pan-European securitization program.- Acquisition Financing: negotiations and management of a Senior Syndicated Credit Agreement, securing vital funding for a high-value acquisition (Hagemayer, Nederland) totaling 5 billion EURO. Ensured diligent oversight of Senior Credit Agreement covenants and securitization triggers.Post-Transaction Integration: Effectively managed communication and collaboration with subsidiary entities during the acquisition of Hagemayer in the Nederland. This included close coordination with HQ Legal, Tax, Cost Control, and Consolidation Departments.Risk Management: Diligently managed foreign exchange, interest rate, and commodity risks in compliance with IFRS requirements. Led comprehensive hedging strategies to mitigate potential exposures.Treasury Optimization: Oversaw the successful implementation of a new Treasury software solution, Sungard, to enhance operational efficiency and financial control.
