As the Chief Operating Officer of Teachers Health Fund, a private health insurer based in Sydney, David's responsibilities have both a strategic and operational focus. Hills is an ASX company providing a range of security, audio-visual, communications and health technology solutions to the home, workplace, hospital, and aged care facilities. Responsibilities included being the company secretary for the Hills Holdings group of compnies, advising the board on good practice in corporate governance, and management of risk management framework and the regulatory compliance program.

Responsibilties include revising corporate governance practices against ASX and Private Health Insurance Administration Council recommendations, redrafting governance charters for Board and Committees, reviewing risk management framework and developing risk appetite model and developing compliance policy and processes.

nib is an ASX listed private health insurer and was the first private health insurer to demutualise and list on the ASX. Responsibilities included being a member of the senior executive team, company secretary - to the nib group of companies and committees, providing the Board and its committees with appropriate advice on the scope of their respective duties and essential risk management, developing and implementing corporate governance practices, executive sponsor for nib’s merger and acquisition projects, mangagement of nib’s internal audit function, including the eventual outsourcing to KPMG, and the executive responsible for nib’s 4 optical dispensing centres and two dental practices.

Enzafruit was a NZ and UK Joint Venture Company established to import and distribute fresh fruit to leading supermarket retailers across the UK. Responsibilities included leading the due diligence review and managing the acquisition of two UK fruit storage, packing and distribution businesses.

NZAPMB was NZ’s single desk pip fruit exporter and exported and marketed NZ apples and pears together with fruit sourced from its Chilean subsidiary to North American, European, Asian and UK retailers. Responsibilities included being a member of the senior executive team, legal counsel to the NZ and offshore businesses in Chile, North America, Germany and the UK, and merger and acquisition responsibilities focusing primarily on the divestment of the Chilean operations and the growth/merger strategy in the UK.

The New Zealand Dairy Board (now Fonterra) was NZ’s single desk exporter of dairy products to worldwide markets. Responsibilities included being legal adviser to the NZ Dairy Board group, providing joint venture and merger (legal) advice to offshore subsidiaries, and transaction design and negotiation (in market) for joint ventures in Europe, North Africa, Latin America, South East Asia, Australia and USA.
