Representing the client as part of an in-house construction management and design team for the Kimpton Kawana Bay Hotel project in Grenada, Caribbean.My duties include the design and coordination of all MEP services for the Matura and Kiawah buildings of the campus using Autodesk Revit ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, producing construction drawings, compiling BOQs and tender documentation for all MEP trades, ordering the material for the plumbers and electricians, as well as on-site supervision ensuring the installation is of high quality and as per the design/drawings.Design of the central energy plant (CEP), housing an 800 ton water-cooled chilled water system, 2000kVA of MV-LV transformers and MV switchgear, 2000kVA of electrical back-up generators, over 200,000 gal of domestic and fire-water storage tanks, fire pumps, and the piping and conduit routing to all the equipment. The entire CEP was modelled using Revit and coordinated with the structural engineer before being presented to Kimpton hotel operator for approval.Building codes and design standards: NFPA, Kimpton hotel standard specifications, EXP engineers’ project specifications

A food stall at the Saturday Neighbourgoods Market selling American-style BBQ from an on-site barrel smoker that I designed (www.facebook.com/TheBarrelBBQ/)Designed and built the smoker myself – modelling the smoker using Solidworks, and exported most of the parts as a .dxf file that was CNC cut and bent.The Barrel BBQ also sold its novel smokers to restaurants and private individuals.

I utilized FEM software to verify the design of structures and performed buoyancy modelling of barges using GHS, a marine modelling software.The main design project that I was responsible for at my internship was to redesign a cradle docking support jig to support the SAIPEM FDS 2 (crane vessel) during a dry dock. This vessel is fitted with a 1000 tonne crane overhung at the aft end of the ship so the jig is required to support the entire weight and moment caused by the crane to ensure that the overhung weight of the crane does not rupture the hull.
