Led a great team of procurement professionals and engineering support personnel in the implementation and management of major supplier production and development activities for avionics components used on the Atlas and Delta Space Launch Vehicles. Activities included Strategic Planning, Supplier and Customer Relationship building, Cross-functional and Cross-organizational Coordination, Change Management, Performance Measurement and Improvement, Analysis of Supplier Proposals, Inputs to Prime Contract Proposals, Supplier Negotiations, and other activities required in the Program Management of Major Subcontracts.Also included Coaching and Mentoring my team and preparing and presenting Executive-level Presentations on work authorization and funding requirements, corrective actions, production forecasts, and proposed changes.A key project was leading the Avionics Supplier Management team in a major follow-on proposal effort which included redesign of most of the avionics used on both the Atlas and Delta Launch Vehicles. This effort included generating and tracking a large number of RFPs, preparing and presenting a major portion of the Bidder’s Conference presentation, compiling and coordinating responses to Bidder questions, tracking proposal inputs, and participating in the supplier selection process. This project fed into a larger prime contract proposal to the US Air Force which resulted in ULA being awarded an $11B contract for 36 launch vehicle cores.

Held a Secret Security ClearanceLed a team of program management, procurement, operations, and engineering support personnel overseeing the qualification and production of the majority of the sequence and control avionics on the Delta Launch Vehicles. This included both onsite management of production operations, program oversight of offsite internal production operations, and major subcontract production procurement activities. Also coordinated the production of wire harness assemblies for the Delta IV launch vehicle and flight and ground support wire harnesses for the International Space Station.These activities required strong Relationship Building, Strategic Planning, Proposal Analysis (including Make/Buy recommendations), Cross-functional and Cross-organizational Coordination, Customer and Supplier Liaison, Performance Measurement and Improvement, Management Presentations, and implementation of Corrective Action programs. Key to my success was my ability to develop a strong, high-performance team.• Special Projects: Led two production facility transitions (internal to internal off-site; then to outside supplier); Mergers and Acquisitions/Divestiture Project Team Member; Author of the avionics section of a Technical Volume for a successful Launch Services proposal to USAF Customer
