• Created a dynamic website (applying knowledge of HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, VBScript, and CSS) then synced it up with backend database design with SQL 2008 R2 for the Department of Residence and Dining to help automate work order processing. I maintain this website as well as the server that hosts the website. The URL is http://www.resservice.iastate.edu. • Wrote the server side software to process IT request forms for online move requisition using J script and VB scripting language• Developed .Net applications using Visual Studio.NET 2003, 2010 to automate business processes in the Department of Residence • Set up departmental print server, FTP server and SQL server and configured different levels of authentication, permission and access rights• Created a reporting system and an automated software to schedule lab monitors, computer lab supplies and generate emails that notify IT staff whenever supplies are low• Conduct system analysis and audit and investigate ways to improve existing IT department infrastructure. • Upgraded the Department of Residence Mail server and set up SMTP mail functions to work with the university email servers and configured the mail server to work with the right TCP/IP port• Experience developing web sites and web applications in LAMP and Microsoft Windows/SQL Server enterprise environments• Created and maintain website for the Inter-Residence Hall Association. This is a heavily used by a student organization website in the residence halls; I set up a host environment for this website as well.
