The Shareholding Management Unit (SMU) is responsible for the management of the shareholdings and investments of the Minister for Finance in the banking sector. My role involves the management of the Minister’s shareholding in the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) and representing the Minister’s interests in relation to the oversight of NAMA.

Planning and Transport Division

Providing a wide range of executive support to enable diplomatic staff and Government Ministers to carry out their key business functions. Liaison officer for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Ministry of Defence and Local Councils in relation to officer accommodation, diplomatic clearance, and transport/security arrangements for visiting Ministers. A recent high profile event I was directly involved with coordinating was the highly successful state visit of the Irish President to the UK.Embassy representative for policy briefings on EU matters from UK government departments, think-tanks and other Embassies. Preparing politically impartial reports and presentations analysing and summarising policy briefs for circulation to relevant senior officials and wider department(s).Event management for official Embassy functions. These events facilitate business, industry, cultural and academic groups of key importance to Ireland as well as allowing state agencies, such as Bord Bia and Enterprise Ireland, to promote Irish produce and people in Britain.Content creator and editor for official Embassy website - www.embassyofireland.co.ukLead for ICT support including onsite training and tendering of new equipment/purchases.

Providing high quality, customer focused consular services and assistance to members of the public by telephone, in writing, email, and in person.Liaising with authorities (hospital, police, airports, local charities) in order to arrange wider assistance for citizens in time of need.Leading the processing of marriages abroad, ensuring document authentication, and citizenship applications are completed accurately and in a timely manner.Maintenance of consular databases and records.

Responsible for the investigation of suspect / flagged passport applications including background checks and interviewing of applicants.Preparing briefs and reports to advise senior management and/or police on the escalation of certain cases.Regular engagement with changing international legislation including border control such as Schengen and visa requirements.Quality Control checks of passport applications checked by colleagues. Detailing of feedback to staff and management through personally prepared concise reports.Verifying entitlement of passport applicants.Maintenance of passport security database.
