"People are your greatest asset." We have all heard this phrase, but does it hold up to be true? If you employ great people with no concrete process or accountability, and handcuff their opportunity to utilize their skill sets, success will not follow. On the opposite end of the spectrum, even with the best business strategy, best marketing plan, best processes and best product, combined with an untrained and inexperienced team with no direction, the same result will follow. The best strategy still requires good people to execute and great people still need to be put in a position to succeed. So maybe it is partially true, but missing a key element-Empowerment. If we properly empower our people, and continue to lead, teach and care for our people, then our goals, commitments and success will be achievable. Empowered people are your greatest asset.
