The Trust is a legacy CCO of Auckland Council. We deal with the provision of security services to the local community and the eradication of graffiti or tagging. In addition we train our safety patrol teams in nationally recognized qualifications to assist them from unemployment to full time employ. We have currently a 91% success rate in this area. We have also reduced the tagging from 30,000 to under 1000 per month. Recently due to a change in Auckland Council policy and funding had to undertake a disestablishment and sustainability review to maintain the validity of the operation. Due purely to the loss of the Graffiti funding and having reviewed the operational accounts with our Chair it is clear that in order to sustain the Trust and allow it to continue its good works that certain sacrifices have to be made. So in order for this to happen and having completed a complete rationalization of the operation, I have tendered my resignation from my post effective 27th September 2013. This is this only logical decision as it means that only one person leaves rather than the Trust closing its doors.

Extensive marketing including numerous TV and Radio appearances. All operational & HR responsibility. Regional Civil Defence representative to Auckland Region Council on Animal Welfare issues. Introduced GPS tracking to Inspectorate making considerable savings in time and adding to customer service. Also introduced stab vests. Increased prosecutions 400% year on year which resulted in income stream from fines $48,000 (2007-2008). Actively sought and gained sponsorships / savings from business including $38,000 from Bayer and $14,000 from Vodafone. Saved numerous costs by implementation of preferred supplier and competitive tender list in all areas. Established a business mentality amongst line managers with “cost centre” thinking. Offered and provided assistance and advice to other SPCA operations NZ wide. Hands on leadership style with open door policy. Recommended for General Manager role by peers. Staff of 70. Made redundant after I reported senior manager for tax and GST fraud and historical animal abuse

The Park Health & Fitness Club, Pools On The Park

The Pools on the Park complex is the largest multi use leisure centre in Greater London. I was recruited to advise on the design and implementation of plans for the new private health & fitness club, including marketing, promotion, budgetary controls, recruitment, training and discipline of staff. The writing of all club operational and fitness assessment manuals and the purchase of all equipment was also under my remit in this post. This role also included the overseeing of the total complex of 3 swimming pools, health suite, 40-seat restaurant, 1000 Sq. Ft Dance Studio and 2000 Sq. Ft Gymnasium. Total staff of 50. Within 5 weeks of opening, the club achieved the membership target set for the first 6 months.

Buckden Marina Leisure Club, Cambridgeshire, Uk

Responsible for the co-ordination and supervision of a 110 acre private health and leisure resort complex including gymnasium, swimming pool, spa, sauna and a full timetable of fitness classes. Setting and implementation of budgetary controls, staff recruitment and training, all sports related activities and membership sales and retention. The planning and organisation of all outdoor events, which included a fireworks display for 1200 members and guests including catering, a black tie summer ball and weekly club nights. As Assistant Manager I was also responsible for the efficient operation of the 50 cover bar and restaurant area. Total staff of 25.
