He has also pushed for more maturity in the development of AI and Web3 systems through empirical studies and the design of automated tools. He has published 500+ journal & conference papers on these topics that have gathered 30k+ citations. *Teaching*: He has taught various software engineering and software analytics courses. *Service*: He has served in 40+ conference organizing committees, including serving as the General Chair of the 31st IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE'16) and a Program Co-Chair of ASE'20, 32nd ACM Symposium on the Foundations of Software Engineering (FSE'24), and 47th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE'25). He has also served on 10+ journal editorial boards, including IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering and the Communications of the ACM. *Awards*: For his research and service contributions, he has won 20+ international awards, including the IEEE TCSE Distinguished Service award, two Test-of-Time (or Most Influential Paper) awards, and seven ACM SIGSOFT/IEEE TCSE Distinguished Paper awards. He is an ACM Fellow (for contributions to synergizing artificial intelligence and software engineering for human-in-the-loop automation, and software analytics), IEEE Fellow (for contributions to synergizing software engineering & data mining), Fellow of Automated Software Engineering, and NRF Investigator (2023-28). Moreover, he has been nominated for five university-wide teaching awards and won the 2022 SMU Teaching Excellence Award.
