•Initiate and manage research projects aimed at quality improvement of current products, incorporating information on industry trends and potential new markets •Design and lead multi-year collaborative research projects with corporation’s largest clients, key prospective clients, and industry/technical partners •Determine etiology of clients’ problems and engineer state-of-the-art solutions •Delineate and roll out best practices for quantifying circuit board cleanliness in conjunction with industry frontrunners •Participate in development and revision of industry-wide best practice standards by serving on standards committees within professional organizations •Invent three published patents and five patents in pre-publication process •Author nine papers presented at industry-wide conferences •Act as Chairman of IPC 5-32c Bare Board Cleanliness Assessment Task Group •Interface with corporation’s international offices and collaborate to resolve client issues and align global and North American standards •Plan, initiate, and implement company-wide movement to increase use of quantitative statistical metrics in claim substantiation, formulation, and statistical process control •Formulate new products with maximum sales potential and minimal regulatory impact in response to customer needs and in consideration of competitors’ offerings •Interface with raw materials suppliers to learn of new additions to market and determine materials best suited for use in formulation •Reverse engineer competitors’ products to inform product development •Spearhead development of novel quantitative analytical techniques to monitor performance of products •Assess quickly new technologies to determine feasibility in the corporate model •Oversee regulatory compliance of new products and gather regulatory data •Undertake research to inform capital equipment purchases and provide recommendations to Board of Directors regarding key capital equipment purchases
