This has involved defending the recent EFSA Opinion on TiO2 in Food, the CLH Intention to classify TiO2 as an inhalation carcinogen which recently resulted in the annulment of the classification at the European Court of Justice and building the science for continued use of nano-TiO2As Chair of the Regulatory Committee, I have represented the industry at high level advocacy meetings with UK regulators (UK HSE, BEIS, DEFRA and FSA), European regulators (DG Grow, Environment, EFSA, ECHA, MCSA, European Parliament and Council) as well as Global regulators (US FDA, Health Canada, FSANZ, Anvista, Turkey, UAE, JECFA)This has also involved directing the strategy to defend TiO2 through CLP, REACH, Nano, Food, Feed, Toys, Cosmetics, Pharmaceutics, Food Contact Materials, Ecolabel, Occupational exposure and toxicological / exposure risk assessmentI have also heavily contributed to the TDMA Communications TF shaping advocacy, web page and formal regulatory media with multiple presentations to Stakeholders at National and International Conferences and meetings
