Responsible for managing the SA Construction Material business which supplies quarry materials, concrete and asphalt from 25 operating sites to residential, commercial and civil construction markets.Responsibilities included delivery of SA EBIT budgets, driving the business towards Zero Harm, developing and implementing strategic plans, and driving continuous improvement and sales force effectiveness to maximise margins. My time in this role encompassed a major restructure of the SA business, including relocation of the head office within Adelaide, and achieving 60% growth in EBIT performance in 5 years.

The SA representative on the National Lean Team, responsible for managing Lean implementation to all BCM SA sites, including Quarries, Concrete plants, Asphalt production and contracting, Logistics, Technical and Workshops. The role included conducting site assessments, organising and facilitating training in all Lean disciplines, and driving Lean action plans on all sites.A particular highlight was when one of my personally established SA "Lead" or benchmark sites won the 2011/12 Boral Annual Storyboard Award (chosen by the CEO).

Managed all BCM SA Six Sigma business improvement projects, delivery of key projects as a qualified Six Sigma Black Belt, and organised training of other Black and Green Belts.Also responsible for tender and co-ordination of supply to selected major projects across the BCM SA Quarries, Concrete, Asphalt and Logistics businesses.The Six Sigma program produced 19 projects achieving bottom line benefits and delivered the stretch target of $4.0 million in total benefits in 2009/10.

Managed all SA Sales and Marketing activities for BCM SA Concrete and Quarries businesses, including management of sales teams, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and delivery of $100M+ p.a. business, and cross functional major project tenders across SA Quarries, Concrete, Asphalt and Logistics.While in this role both Concrete and Quarries businesses achieved budgeted revenues for 6 consecutive financial years, with 3 new top 10 accounts developed in Quarries and Concrete volumes grown over 70% by increasing share in a very competitive market.
