Managed and conducted multiple power system studies on transmission and distribution systems for ISO’s, utilities and generation developers using software programs such as PSS®E, PSS®MUST, PSS®SINCAL and CYME. Responsible for sales and marketing, proposals, customer liaison, budgets and deadlines though to the study results and presentation. The types of studies include microgrids, distribution automation, distributed generation, distribution master plans, loss studies, motor starting and transmission generator interconnection planning projects for onshore (with FACTS) and offshore (with HVDC) wind turbines, solar thermal, combined cycle gas, pumped hydro storage and biomass technologies.Managed a team of engineers to develop several smart grid training courses, and have taught multiple courses in the USA, Canada and Kenya on the following subjects: smart grids, distribution automation, low voltage networks, utility economics, distribution systems, protection, grounding and power system equipment.

Experience in eleven different departments including PTI, control, protection, settings, finance, sales, marketing, HV primary equipment, project management and on-site; over an 18 month period.Manager of the Young Apprentice Programme 08-09 with the sole responsibility of the programme, from securing budgets and organising all stakeholders to generating the teaching schedules.

Designed, built an automated testing system for substation control using Siemens control system hardware and PasCC software.
