I participated in the build outs of four separate institutional equity research distribution efforts across many different Emerging Markets countries. In the process, I have gained a first hand understanding of varied market and governance structures, cross-industry company knowledge, investor relations efforts and the cultures of several of leading investment banks. Advising some of the world’s largest investors through sixty country bear markets and four full Emerging Markets cycles has given me a feel for extreme ups and downs, as well as an understanding of practical steps one might take to prepare for and sometimes take advantage of those inevitable events.
