This included overseeing the design, development and implementation of the Innovation Investment Fund.David has been the Project Director of the Australian Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Office within the Department, working on all aspects of the SKA at a domestic and international level, including the negotiation of an Indigenous Land Use Agreement. For his work on SKA and industry policy, David was awarded a Public Service Medal in 2022.In 2021 and 2022, David headed the department’s taskforce to establish an mRNA manufacturing capability in Australia.After a short stint as acting Chief Operating Officer in the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, David took on the role of Head of Division, AusIndustry.
