I have extensive experience of leading collective negotiations; employee engagement; and Union relationships across a wide range of private companies and Government-funded organisations where Prospect union members are employed. These have included National Air Traffic Services; CAA; Ministry of Defence; AWE plc; State Veterinary Service, Serco Ltd; Metropolitan Police Service; Babcock/Cavendish; QinetiQ plc. I am a qualified and accredited Mediator (CEDR) and have succesfully resolved employee conflicts in organisations and companies, including easyJet. I use my mediation skills in negotiations to resolve collective as well as individual disputes, and in brokering and advising on settlement agreements for individual members.My current responsibilities in Prospect include providing advice and individual representation for Veterinary Surgeons on behalf of the British Veterinary Association (BVA) under a contract between Prospect and the BVA; I am also the Prospect National Official responsible for the Fire Leaders Association (FLA) Branch, representing Chief Fire Officers and other strategic-level leaders and managers in Fire & Rescue Services across the country. In addition I am Group Secretary of Prospect`s 23,000 Retired Members Group. I also lead for the Trade Union side of the industry-wide Compensation Scheme for Radiation-Linked Diseases. I am also experienced in negotiating and communicating changes to many private-sector pension schemes.I have wide experience in external stakeholder engagement activities across different industries including Nuclear Energy; Defence; and Aviation, promoting the interests of Prospect`s skilled members employed in those industries.This includes parliamentary lobbying; ministerial deputations; and media campaigning. My previous experience includes international political lobbying of the EU and Regulatory bodies through the European Transport Federation.
