As part of EU funded Municipal Infrastructure Support Programme IPA 2010 (55 million EUR), directed and managed technical cooperation and operational assistance (www.misp-serbia.rs) co-funded by the European Union Instrument for Pre-accession (IPA) and national funds, and contracted through the Eptisa/Royal HakoningDHV/VNG consortium. Direct support to Ministry beneficiaries, and selected Municipalities/Public Utility Companies (PUCs) in economic, water and solid waste sectors. Key achievements and results: • Developed 5 climate resilient investment projects with investment values of €10 - 40 million, with overall investment of over €100 million, including feasibility, preliminary designs, financial and economic analyses, environmental appraisals, climate impact and change appraisals and and financing plans for: integrated solid waste management centre in a 200,00 region (Zrenjanin, €30 million), two economic infrastructure investments (Nis and Apatin, €10-15m), integrated water supply, sewerage and wastewater treatment system (Lake Bovan, €15m), and wastewater treatment plant for a medium size City (140,000 PE, Zrenjanin, €25m); • Contributed to feasibility, conceptual design, cost benefit analysis, environmental appraisal and financing plan for two wastewater treatment plants (20,000 PE, Raska €14 million; 10,000 PE, Cacak - €18 million); and • Completed Financial and Operational Performance Improvement Programmes for 3 water PUCs; and • Tailored and on the job training through 20 training courses to 500 national and local officials in project preparation and implementation.
