I currently lecture to undergraduates and postgraduates on MPA, MSc International Relations and Public Services. I was a practitioner in Critical Incident Management for 10 years with Northumbria Police and taught at the College of Policing, and a number of other further education institutions. I also lectured on the subject for a number of years within the police force and to different agencies. I have managed many serious incidents (including high profile events) over the past decade. I have carried out research on a number of issues surrounding critical incident management and also on the subjects of decision making and decision inertia.Designed Executive Disaster and Emergency Management and related short courses on behalf of MMU for both the national and international market. The courses are being reviewed by a number of prospective clients. Consultancy work is also available to both the public and private sector.
