David M. Ash graduated “with distinction” from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business in 1991. He started his career as a certified public accountant (CPA) at KPMG, one of the Big Four national accounting firms. After practicing 3 years as a CPA, David attended the University of Maryland School of Law, graduating “with honor” in 1997. Thereafter, he moved up to New York City and worked at a few prominent law firms, including Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP as a tax attorney and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP as a trust and estates associate. In addition, during this time, David attended New York University School of Law in pursuit of his LL.M. degree (a masters degree in taxation with an emphasis on estate planning), which David obtained in 2001.In September, 2003, David began his own practice focusing solely on estate planning. David was initially licensed to practice law in New York in March, 1998, and is currently a member of the New York State Bar Association, and is a member of the Trusts & Estates Section of the New York State Bar. Furthermore, in December, 2003, David became licensed to sell life insurance by the New York State Department of Insurance.
