I joined the British Army in September of 2005 at the age of 16. I joined the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME) as a Vehicle Mechanic. After finishing basic training, I attended the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering where I studied basic mechanical engineering. On successful completion of this training I then began my career in earnest. Serving alongside various units, both on exercise and operations. I attained my Class 1 status in 2011 allowing me to inspect the various vehicles held by the British Army and furthering my knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering. In 2019, I was fortunate enough to be selected for Artificer training, the engineering management route of the REME. This eighteen month, intensive course built on the foundations of my engineering knowledge and qualified me with a HND in automotive engineering. After successful completion of this course in December 2020, I returned to the field Army as an Artificer, managing a wide range of resources including but not limited to; personnel, equipment, vehicles, finance and planning.
