As an Independent Councillor at East Renfrewshire Council, I represent the interests and needs of the people in my ward, and contribute to the strategic direction and policy-making of the council. I have been serving in this role since May 2017, and I am passionate about local democracy and community engagement.I have a strong background in governance and finance, having worked as a director and consultant for various companies and organisations before becoming a councillor. I use my skills and knowledge to scrutinise the council's budget, performance, and decisions, and to ensure accountability and transparency. I also work with multiple stakeholders, including residents, businesses, community groups, and public bodies, to address local issues and deliver positive outcomes.
