Production Director
CurrentI am responsible for coordinating production at CCB's three production breweries - Spey Valley Brewery in Speyside, Alechemy Brewing in Livingston and Broughton Ales near Biggar.I liaise with the sales team to ensure the correct products are produced by the brewers and are available when needed. I liaise between each of the three breweries and various 3rd party packaging sites to coordinate new and existing products for manufacture.I liaise with ingredient producers and packaging material manufacturers to ensure they are with the production sites in a timely manner and made to the correct specifications for manufacture - i.e. pack size, bar code, material of construction, labels, dates, bottle type, carbonation level, etc.New Product Development - Beers - Researched, commissioned and brewed classic and trending beer styles. I also take an active role in brand development and work closely with our graphic designers.New Product Development - Spirits -Trained on gin and liqueur design and production with iStill University in Holland. I have developed gin for use within our company and also for 3rd parties. Compliance Management - Responsible for obtaining HMRC licenses relevant to beer, barrel aged beer, cider and spirit productionResponsible for the implementation of HACCP at Spey Valley Brewery and obtaining SALSA+Beer Accreditation for the sitesResponsible for the implementation of SOPA Organic Accreditation for Spey Valley Brewery.Performance Management - Responsible for the appraisal, training and development needs of colleagues within the production functionI am also responsible for day to day dealings with all customers in the on trade and off trade, including producing their supply contracts.I also perform a brand ambassadorial role and coordinate our promotional activities. This includes running our own events and running event bars in association with local community groups, in addition to supporting other local festivals and events.
