Foreign Service Officer with expertise in management, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement. I lead the section in the Department of Global Affairs of Canada devoted to Canada's relations with the Commonwealth, a global organization of 56 countries advancing progress in areas such as good governance and development. Canada is the Commonwealth's second largest funder and we host its only institution outside of the UK, the Burnaby-BC based Commonwealth of Learning, which focuses on inclusive distance education. My previous roles include extensive experience in Canada's relations with the United States (e.g. management of the shared border during COVID-19) and with Asia (e.g. four-year posting to the High Commission of Canada in Singapore, reporting on economic developments across Southeast Asia and implications for Canadian trade and political interests).As a separate personal initiative, I founded the North America Study Group of the Canadian International Council, National Capital Branch. Through this study group, I have hosted live and virtual events with former and current ambassadors and public policy experts. All participants take part in their own personal capacities with the goal of developing greater understanding of international affairs in democratic societies.
