Initially placed as the Business Analyst for the upgrade of the third party AttentiV mortgage system. This was a major upgrade that required the analysis of over 2,500 fixes and over 60 change requests covering the areas of mortgage application, mortgage processing and arrears. Following the successful upgrade I moved on to the New Business Automation programme for the introduction of a web based mortgage application module for brokers and other authorised agents. My main duty was the requirements definition for the interface from the new application module into the existing Summit back office financial package. Technical consultant and developer on 2 major mortgage migration programmes (Nat West Integration and the new Group Mortgage Platform), and management of several smaller projects taking them through the full life cycle from initial requirements to production implementation.The Nat West Integration programme was a major migration project from a Unix based mortgage system onto an OS390 DB2 Mortgage system. This included elements of process redesign to clean up the target business processes as well as development work to introduce new functionality to cover specific Nat West requirements. On completion of the integration programme I moved on to the Group Mortgage Platform, which was another migration project to move all RBS owned mortgage brands, including RBS, Nat West, Direct Line, Coutts, Ulster Bank, RFS and First Active on to a single common mortgage platform. Although development was based on a pro-ISAM and C-ISAM file structure on a Unix server, the long-term objective was to convert to an Oracle database and utilise Oracles auditing and Rollback capabilities.I was employed in the pensions team to create technical specification documents from higher level functional design documents. These specifications were to be at such a low level that a less experienced programmer could code directly from them.
