I was responsible for the strategic management, development and delivery of the Trust’s Youth Justice Programme, Initial Teacher Training Programme and Schools Network Programme ensuring positive changes to practice across the children’s workforce. I developed and delivered multiple complex projects taking them from inception to completion. I was responsible for all aspects of project planning and management including business case development, stakeholder management, budget management, quality assurance and evaluation, and risk management. Developed award-winning Sentence Trouble resources (website, booklet and video) aimed at everyone who works in the youth justice sector www.sentencetrouble.info;Developed and delivered bespoke training for Youth Offending Team staff, Young Offender Institution staff, Secure Children’s Home staff, Secure Training Centre staff, magistrates, teachers, police and legal professionals;Developed and managed a network of 20 specialist trainers for the delivery of over 200 training days to 3,000 youth justice professionals, exceeding targets;After initial £480k govt. funding secured additional funding of £150k through successful funding bids;Due to the success of my Youth Justice programme I was contacted by, and worked with, clinical experts from Australia and New Zealand to help them adopt key aspects of the programme for their health services;Built an extensive network of contacts through an excellent reputation and via recommendation that resulted in an expansion of the programme across the sector:Commissioned by the Youth Justice Board to develop bespoke training sessions for the Young Offender Institution compulsory training programme;Commissioned by HM Courts & Tribunals Service to develop bespoke training for magistrates and legal professionals. Following successful piloting I worked with HM Courts & Tribunals Service to adapt the model for cost effective, sustainable delivery at a local level by local services.

Delivering key project areas for government funded Empowerment Programme; management of national standards programme; Policy formulation; Event management; Resource development; Advisor on performance, capacity and accountability.Project managed the development and delivery of an electoral resources pack for local councils nationally. The resource was featured in two best practice articles in the country’s biggest local government sector publication Local Government Chronicle. The resource is now in its third edition;Project managed the development and delivery of innovative best practice, case study and guidance resources for the sector;Developed comprehensive guidance resource for communities wishing to create a new local council;Managed the Quality Parish and Town Council Scheme, a national standards programme, providing advice and support and managing the strategic direction of the scheme;My research paper on electoral costs in the local council tier directly influenced the Councillors Commission recommendation that local council elections should be fully funded by principal authorities.

Primary responsibility for managing a Periodic Electoral Review Programme, managing and quality assuring the output of a review team. As part of my role I analysed complex numerical, social and geographical data and presented recommendations to commissioners for approval. I was also lead on policy and strategy development for the Boundary Committee and contributed to policy and strategy development within the Electoral Commission.
