I retired from my AECOM British Columbia Operations Vice President role in mid 2023. After a few months of leisure travel and recreation, it’s nice to find I have some gas left in the tank. I am happy to return to my management consultancy roots on a part time basis within AECOM’s Infrastructure Advisory team. My areas of specialty are: utility operations and maintenance performance measurement and management with a direct connection to increasing productivity; and on multidisciplinary team management and growth strategies to build effective and productive technical project teams. In my previous role, I embarked on a strategy of technical team growth to grow AECOM’s Water Engineering practice to become the technical leader in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance engineering design projects in British Columbia. Over eight years, our AECOM Water Engineering team more than doubled in size and delivered some of the largest and most iconic water treatment and conveyance infrastructure projects in the region. I am especially proud of our ability to continue to function safely and effectively through the COVID pandemic while maintaining all of our engineering and construction support. By 2023, I had implemented supervisory succession plans in all of our technical disciplines to ensure the team’s long term success following my retirement.
