As a Graduate Student Assistant for the Center for Teaching and Learning, I assisted professors and staff in two major university-wide transitions. The first was in the transition to remote instruction that took place due to the pandemic. The second was the transition from Blackboard to Canvas as the university's primary learning management system. These two major transitions happening at the same time created a perfect storm in developing a need for the expertise of our Center. I routinely assisted professors and staff in these transitions by facilitating information workshops and providing consultations for individual questions and concerns. I also hosted other workshops designed to improve university understanding and practice of course development, course evaluation, remote pedagogy, and equity. Internally, I contributed my research and analysis expertise to ongoing research projects.

I personally managed multiple large databases containing sensitive financial documents and information regarding decades of contracts between the university and government agencies. I further facilitated communication between government agencies and the university with regard to the status and details of ongoing federal contracts. I turned down accepting a full-time offer for this position because I was accepted into graduate school.

I worked 1:1 with individuals aged 3+ diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder on prescribed goals derived from intervention plans. I utilized research-based Applied Behavioral Analytic methods in therapy with a concentration on generalizing skills across social and environmental settings to ensure mastery of each unique target skill. I provided both home and school services for individuals. I am proud to say that I was trusted with representing the company as the first Behavioral Therapist to work in a public school setting, country-wide, for Behavioral Health Works. My hard work and dedication as a pioneer for the company were rewarded in December 2017 when I was awarded the honor of employee of the month. As my rapport with clients grew, my superiors entrusted me with proposing amendments to program methods. This new responsibility allowed me the opportunity to help design improved intervention strategies for all of my clients.

Working for what is often the busiest restaurant in the Boston area, I provided excellent customer service for up to 100 guests each night. In order to ensure top customer service for all of my guests, I learned the ingredients and preparation of all menu items, consisting of 60 dishes, 10 desserts, and 15 mixed drinks. I was also distinguished in the ability to describe the taste palate, varietal, year, and country of the 50 house wines. I strove each day to work up to the high expectations of both our guests and management. My work ethic under these conditions greatly aided in my continued development as a customer service specialist.

I designed and executed 8 daily English lessons for students aged 5-15 on a daily basis. When I was not in class or designing a lesson, I was maintaining positive communication with over 50 parents. I organized and constructed long-term schedules, assignments, and goals for over 300 students while adapting to and cooperating with the needs of a foreign work environment. Communication and adaptability were the most important aspects of this job, as I was working in a foreign country with coworkers from over 10 different countries. I assisted school management in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new teachers during the school year. This included both face-to-face and skype interviews, assisting prospective employees with visa application paperwork, assisting new employees with alien registration, tax, pension, and foreign banking forms, as well as developing and leading comprehensive training projects on topics such as scheduling, teaching, multicultural sensitivities, and developing meaningful and effective relations with parents.Halfway through the year, the school moved buildings and began operation under private ownership, opting out of its franchise status. During this time, I assisted in organizing a rebranding of the school and participated in writing and acting in our commercials, as well as video editing. For the remainder of my time with Gwanak SLP, I was appointed with the role of lead foreign teacher. In this role, I would accompany school leadership in communicating and selling parents on the value and quality of our school, our teachers, our education, and our overall unique and positive impact on their children.

I worked independently to secure and maintain dozens of tutoring jobs after receiving my CELTA certification to teach English as a foreign language in August 2015. I administered unique lesson plans and schedules for each student and organized the free time I have outside of my day job around the needs and time constraints of my students. I acted as my own brand and company, working extremely hard for each student to both represent myself and to create the best possible learning experience.
