Dave is an accomplished trial lawyer and a veteran in commercial litigation, products liability and personal injury matters. After graduating from Brandeis University cum laude, he attended the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude. While at SUNY at Buffalo, Dave was elected to the editorial board of the Buffalo Law Review and was awarded the Robert J. Connelly Award for excellence in trial practice. After graduation, Dave began his legal career at one of the largest law firms in the Western New York area, where he concentrated in commercial litigation and negligence defense. He later formed the law firm Marcus, Knoer, Crawford & Hilton, LLP, where he focused his practice on civil litigation, including commercial and personal injury cases. It was there that he won a landmark victory in a discrimination case tried before a jury in the Federal District Court for the Western District of New York.Dave was a founding partner at Marcus & Cinelli, LLP, where he concentrated on commercial and complex litigation matters. The firm is now called The Law Office of David P. Marcus, PLLC. Dave has tried numerous cases to verdict in Federal and State Courts. He has been retained by individuals and businesses to litigate cases in courts throughout the nation as well as within New York State. In addition to practicing law, Dave was an adjunct Professor who taught Business Law at the postgraduate and undergraduate levels at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Management. He has been honored by his peers, who elected Dave a New York State "Super Lawyer," a title bestowed on the top 5% of lawyers. Dave was also included in the 2013 list of Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation. Inclusion in Best Lawyers is based entirely on peer review, and the list has been called by Corporate Counsel magazine as "the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice".
