This role sees me manage the day to day operations of the 'National Law' ( Domestic Commercial Vessel) Compliance and Investigations unit. I coordinate the central operations of AMSA’s National System for Commercial Vessel Safety compliance, enforcement and investigations program and the 'National Law' marine incident and infringement notice management systemsThe Compliance and Investigations unit is responsible for the on-going operational support and management and training of its network of over 300 appointed Marine Safety Inspectors and all Police in the country.I coordinate the implementation and use of the compliance and enforcement ‘tools’ provide by the 'National Law' to ensure consistency and compliance with AMSA’s policies and protocols.The position requires me to liaise at varied 'levels' with other Commonwealth agencies, State/Territory agencies and the marine industry on compliance, enforcement and investigative matters.
