My job entails the organization, implementation, maintenance and removal of telecommunications/network infrastructure for a declared disaster within the jurisdiction of the United States. My responsibilities involve the accountability of all services ordered, implemented and disconnected with the associated equipment utilized returned to their owners or back to the designated government locations. To handle personnel issues in the telecom/network work groups through the life of the disaster, and to adjust personnel requirements as the job requires, from start to completion of the mission.

As an Outside Plant Engineer I was responsible for reliability of the company’s network within a specific region or area under my jurisdiction. I was responsible for the design, and implementation of jobs to provide facilities for new growth in both residential and commercial locations, and the implementation of jobs that were issued for the maintenance of existing facilities that have failed to maintain reliability. I was accountable for all jobs in my area of responsibility from conception to completion and had project managed several jobs simultaneously during my employment as an Outside Plant Engineer. Job scope was from the smallest terminal placement to large State of California highway relocations that involved months of planning, design and programed workloads to be issued in timely manner to meet project goals.

This job entailed the installation and repair of services for both residential and commercial. Job included wiring of outside plant to provide connectivity to homes and business for services ordered. Simple and complex wiring strategies were used for both inside and outside of premises locations following bell system practices and other electrical standards for order or service repair situations. This job required customer interaction and understanding of regulated and non-regulated services and procedures as required by law or governed by local ordinances.
