Dave is a Mechanical Engineer with over sixteen years of experience. For more than seven years he has been managing capital projects for a public transit agency. The previous four years he spent working in project execution for major clients in the steel industry. He spent over two years working on three different blast furnace reline projects under the leadership of a senior mechanical engineer. Dave also spent three months on site at a blast furnace as project/site engineer and oversaw startup and commissioning of mechanical equipment for a coke plant quench tower installation. He also has four years experience developing process electric heating solutions for a wide range of industrial applications and preparing proposals for technical sales engineers to present to clients.Dave’s recent experience includes the role of Lead Mechanical Engineer on a large capital improvement project to replace a continuous slab caster for a major steelmaker. As the mechanical lead, Dave provided leadership and supervision for other engineers and designers within the discipline, coordinated with inter-disciplinary teams of engineers, assisted in resolution of technical matters related to the discipline, and managed schedule, cost, manpower, and technical deliverables for the mechanical team. Another recent project includes the role of Mechanical Engineer on a capital improvement project to re-line a blast furnace. Dave wrote technical specifications, prepared technical bid evaluations, reviewed design and layout drawings, and coordinated with plant personnel and equipment vendors to ensure the purchase packages met the needs of the client and the engineered specifications.
