I'm currently working on a project at IT Sligo with the aim of designing and implementing a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for the Online Distant Learning department.The project is currently in the planning stage and I have been brought in to review the capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics CRM and whether or not it would be the best option to go with from IT Sligo's point of view.This project will demand efficiency, time management, project planning and good research and organizational skills.I will also be learning Dynamics CRM skills which will be another great application to learn about as it is used in most large companies today.

Primary Role and Responsibilities: - IT Support across Campus for Staff and Students - IT Support for all staff and students on the IT Sligo campus as well as online students - Troubleshooting of all IT related issues both hardware and software- Involved in the Virtualization project on campus to increase accessibility for students externally- Network Printer Mapping/Printer repair across campus for all users- Updating IT software installation procedures and validating installations- Involved in rolling out Ubuntu Linux OS to Research students on campus for testing

In July 2013, I began working with Abbott Nutrition in Ballytivnan. The site manufactures feeding devices for patients. My role within Abbott is that of an IT MCN Technician. The manufacturing division contains all the machines to produce the product onsite from start to finish with machines for:- Tubing- Wrapping the units - Packaging the finished product for shipping.Role Responsibilities: • Maintaining and supporting the Manufacturing Control Network Abbott LAN. I was back working on a 3 month contract with Abbott Nutrition on the iSee project. During my term I was working primarily with the Finance team on analyzing and developing the remainder of the iSee Project that commenced in 2012. My role this time around was similar to that before only that, with time constraints, I was required to analyze and plan the remainder of the project in an even more efficient and effective way so we meet our deadline before the system is to go live.

I worked as an IT Business Analyst for Abbott Nutrition. My role involved liaising with the Finance team to develop and implement a Costing System for products produced by our Third Party Manufacturers (TPM's) that will be both cost effective and operate at a greater speed than the current system. My role in the project was to add test data onto the AS400 system (Products, Prices, Packaging etc). The development involves a web interface operating over the AS400, retrieving data from it and displaying the results.Another part of my role in the project was to write up test protocols and test the new web interface to validate that it is functioning correctly and retrieving the correct data from the AS400 system. For every function on the web interface, I had to prepare a protocols to test it and validate that each component was working correctly.The project introduced me to Project Management as well as broadening my IT skills as I learned the importance of time management, being cost effective by carrying out a thorough testing and validation of the system and delegating between the various groups involved so everyone was on the same page and aware of the progress.

Active Directory Structure - We were asked to design the active directory structure, user locations and the groups that they would need access to for certain shared files etc. File Server- We were asked to ensure that the user’s documents were held in a central area through the creation of a file server. Application Server - We were asked that applications were distributed from a central location and distributed through the use of group policy. DNS - We were asked to create a DNS server that allowed users to be identified – This is an identifier for all network devices.DHCP - Create a scope of addresses on a server and then we had to authorise the server to hand out these addresses which would be given to the computers in the order that they log on. Replication - We looked at replication as this is very important so there is minimal data loss to the business i.e. they could get up and running again quickly because usually data loss could mean productivity loss.
