We are also helping to re-draft the Council's SPD to incorporate a more robust s106 local procurement requirement.

Building for Growth is a pilot business support programme in London which aims to assist small and medium sized construction companies to access more opportunities from the major construction boom in the capital, help them improve their chances of winning contracts and grow their companies.

9 Boroughs Across Central London

MTW and Shared Intelligence has engaged with over 120 major buying organisations across 9 London boroughs obtaining opportunities for SMEs on the programme and undertaking the business brokerage and helping to put on Meet the Buyer events. To date there have been 45 contracts won worth over £4m.

Wandsworth And Lambeth

The aim of the project was to help local SMEs in both boroughs access their share of opportunities from the enormous amount of development in the Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area. I worked with some 30 main contractors and managing agents in the area, identifying opportunities and recruiting suitable local companies and helping to put on a programme of events which brought buyers and SMEs together.

Westminster, City Of London, Southwark, Lambeth, Camden & Islington

Supply Cross River is an ERDF funded local procurement project providing business support to over 700 SMEs and brokering contract opportunities from large Buyers for them. I was responsible for Buyer engagement with a target of £18m and also for installing s106 local procurement planning obligations in the participating Councils.

MTW was initially asked by Islington Council to help ensure that local businesses benefitted from this major regeneration project to build the Emirates Stadium and 2,500 housing units on surrounding land. We were subsequently appointed to work with Camden Council to run a similar project based on the Kings Cross Central project. Towards the end of the project we were working with over 400 SMEs across both boroughs and helped them to win over £55m of contracts.
