Generate concepts, create detailed designs, build prototypes, perform Mil-Spec qualification, and work closely with manufacturing engineering to produce power electronic devices, ruggedized circuit breakers, and power distribution switchboards for use on US Navy submarines and surface ships.• Led the mechanical design effort of a complex (1000+ part) 5000A switchboard for a submarine application. Directed 5 engineers in the design, layout, and drawing creation to meet demanding schedule and specification compliance requirements.• Integral part of design sprint team that created a 2300A disconnect switch from a clean sheet concept to fully functioning qualification unit in under two months.• Worked directly with Principal Engineer to militarize a 5kV, 2000A commercial-off-the-shelf vacuum circuit breaker to withstand high-impact shock and vibration (MIL-S-901 and MIL-STD-167).• Led time-sensitive redesign effort of inertial shock latch, whose original shock testing failure led to a shut-down of the production line of circuit breakers. Developed creative solution that satisfied all shock and vibration requirements without modification to existing parts.• Manage in-house 3D printing of prototype parts from multiple departments. Utilize 3D Systems Project 3500 to produce highly detailed 3D printed parts ranging from assembly fit checks to complex dynamic mechanisms.

Developed, tested, and manufactured electro-mechanical devices and electronic packaging used in the rail industry. Utilized Pro/Engineer to create concept models and detailed designs.
