CurrentI make custom clarinet mouthpieces (Eb, Bb, Bass) for professional and college performers. They are used world wide in major orchestras, military bands, university faculty and students, and advance high school students. A custom plastic mouthpiece (Plato) was developed for young players 8 years ago and is based on the playing feel of the professional models. I have given lectures on clarinet mouthpiece acoustics and on a philosophy on how to choose new equipment. During the acoustic lecture, I demonstrate how mouthpieces are refaced, bored, and adjusted. These presentations have been given at Florida State University, Yale University, University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, United States Coast Guard Academy, Bowling Green State University, University of Akron, Indiana University, University of Texas-Austin, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Tennessee-Martin, and the University of Oklahoma Clarinet Symposium.
