Deputy State Director for Colorado BLM Support Services. Division Chief for several branches and programs including Human Resources, Acquisitions, Finance, Budget, Cadastral Surveying, Engineering, Records, Facilities Management, Asset Management, Project Planning, Geospatial Information Systems, Information Technology, and Safety.

As Chief, Information Resource Management Branch, I was responsible for managing the Information Technology and Security Section, Geospatial Information Services (GIS) Section, Radio and Telecommunications Section, Public Room, Federal Records Team, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Team. Led and supervised 32 employees and contractors that provided services to over 800 customers in Colorado State with staff located throughout the state that conducted local and virtual support efforts. Managed over a 4 million annual budget. Managed IT support efforts across the State of Colorado supporting 17 field office locations.

As Regional CTO, I provided guidance to leadership across 16 States on IT initiatives, report to Directors and Executives on compliance, directed IT projects and ensured efforts met OMB, Departmental and Bureau deadlines. In addition to Regional IT leadership efforts, I was also responsible for leading local IT support for USGS customers in the Denver Federal Center. As Chief, Information Technology and Security Branch, I supervised multiple IT operational projects including server operations, network operations, telecommunications, service desk and security. I led and managed large national efforts such as participated in Departmental team efforts. I coordinated efforts involving cloud computing, virtualization, server room optimization, streamlining communications and heading up a new mobile support strategy to support mobile devices. I worked with enterprise management, certification and accreditation, and integrated communication projects. Successes included server virtualization, optimizing USGS Central Region server room which resulted in a 50% reduction in energy consumption, established efficient certification and accreditation processes when testing security controls, and created efficiencies within the branch which resulted in a 20% decrease in operating costs.

IT Program Manager responsible for servicing customers in 20 western states including Hawaii. Led program initiatives with federal and contract IT specialists in project management, planning, network administration, web development, database administration, security and help desk support. Job functions included establishing research, coordinated, procured, performed systems analysis, and developed engineering and administrative IT applications. Responsibilities included leadership, coaching, coordinating, facilitating, and development. I advised senior leadership on all IT issues arising in the division and for managing and directing operation, maintenance, and security of IT equipment and systems in Central Federal Lands Division. I was the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR) for IT contracts including short and long term agreements. I was responsible for overseeing internet, intranet, and extranet development, hardware, software, security, data communications, training, and use policies. I participated in federal and cross agency management meetings relative to systems software, hardware and database management initiatives. I planned, coordinated and worked with business processes within the IT program to assure OMB-A123, A0130 compliance. Accomplishments included establishing IT business processes and management controls within the IT team, redesigning the intranet page and changed functionality to a user driven web site. Built an annual business plan, established an IT investment-planning portfolio, created a new enterprise management solution, and established a property management web application that utilizes the latest technology in inventory and asset management. Established a web based VPN solution for remote sites to reach back to respective offices. Enhanced help desk support by changing help desk procedures and staffing schedules to fit the customers needs.
