Successes included server virtualization, optimizing USGS Central Region server room which resulted in a 50% reduction in energy consumption, established efficient certification and accreditation processes when testing security controls, and created efficiencies within the branch which resulted in a 20% decrease in operating costs.

Accomplishments included establishing IT business processes and management controls within the IT team, redesigning the intranet page and changed functionality to a user driven web site. Built an annual business plan, established an IT investment-planning portfolio, created a new enterprise management solution, and established a property management web application that utilizes the latest technology in inventory and asset management. Established a web based VPN solution for remote sites to reach back to respective offices. Enhanced help desk support by changing help desk procedures and staffing schedules to fit the customers needs.
