• Create and maintain emissions applications for non-road/off-road engines to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and California Air Resources Board (CARB)• Serve in a consultative capacity on product safety & regulatory compliance and product qualification activities to ensure compliance with North American and EU vehicle safety and emissions regulatory requirements in the company’s product designs• Complete North American Safety certification files, plan and execute EU vehicle homologation testing and whole vehicle type-approvals• Assist in the development of product safety & regulatory policies and procedures• Represent the company in pertinent international societies including (in order of time spent in them): Truck and Engine Manufacturer’s Association, Canadian Vehicle Manufacturer’s Association, Society of Automotive Engineers, and Truck Maintenance Council• Train engineering and platform strategy staff on regulatory compliance• Evaluate and interpret US and foreign government regulations and standards to provide guidance for compliance strategy and risk management• Provide technical direction and communication across engineering, IT, government relations, contracts, and legal to ensure understanding, cooperation and coordination • Coordinate with representatives from National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the California Air Resources Board in regards to writing public submissions to government rule making dockets and work with agencies for compliance to regulations• Heavy-duty diesel Greenhouse gas engine and vehicle certification
