After almost 20 years I have decided to leave RBC and my last day will be 12 July 2017.Managing Director and Joint Head of Business: In 2009 took on the leadership role jointly. The position involves the day to day leadership of the business and its 200 staff and turnover of circa £25m and for setting the strategic direction of the business and the overall financial results. It also comes with responsibility for risk and compliance management as well as business development. As well as board and executive responsibilities the role also involves maintaining relationships with some key corporate clients and requires input into technology development as both a sponsor and as a subjet matter expert. Head of Edinburgh Office: In 2000, set up the Edinburgh office for RBC (Abacus at that time which was acquired by RBC in 2005) supporting the expansion of the RBC CEES business into the UK. The office was created to allow the RBC CEES business to grow outside of the Channel Islands and the office has grown to make up approximately 1/3rd of the business by staff number.Client management: In 1998 moved to a client handling role looking after corporate clients and business development. Responsibility in winning new clients, the implementation and the ongoing administration of the structures set up for those clients.Business management: Joined as business manager responsible for all non-client related aspects of the business including financial management, HR, projects – IT, process improvement and other non-client facing functions. The role was based in Jersey in the Channel Islands.
