A great opportunity for me to help develop our existing apprentices, engineers & future engineers.With our business expanding in the existing diesel generator and now with the addition of gas powered generators and CHP units there is lots to do. I continue to help out various departments and individuals with my technical experience and skills. I am driving the company's skill set and quality upwards for the future benefit of all.

I now have the additional responsibilities of taking care of the stores and the personnel within, fabric of our Milngavie facility and our apprentices training as well as all duties below. I am carrying out board upgrades to all of our electrical/mechanical infrastructure where necessary. I am continuing to increase the skills level of our work shop engineers growing them to increase their confidence and independence. I will introduce further work shop experiences for our 4 apprentices as well as classroom based instruction.I have introduced a quality audit and time scale program to help our engineers set down future goals for themselves and to assist our competitiveness in the market place.I am continuing to expand my technical experience helping our service department to complete on- site upgrades by producing new control panel with AutoCAD schematics and tool box talks on how to safely complete the task.

Milngavie Scotland

For the past 30 months I have been working as Minor Works Manager- complete charge of all generators passing through ours works in Milngavie. I have developed Pre Delivery Inspections greatly increasing the quality control of all our FGW supplied generators. I am also tasked with all up fits onto standard generators from signalling/ indication devices right up to synchronisation panel up fits. I have a great interest in increasing our workforces skills & knowledge and as such have been a constant support contact for all of our personnel / departments including sales, service & projects.I currently also work in a dual role as a project engineer on minor projects within and outside our works. I keep abreast of al the latest developments in the generator control modules and am current developing a training bed to include generator operation, a.m.f. change over panels, synchronisation (set to set and mains / G59) and pump control system which will be used to train our apprentices and fortify our current crop of field engineers.Gained FGW's generator expert technician accreditation in 2012Capable of designing from scratch electrical control systems and producing schematics in .dwg format using latest Autocad package.Able to produce timelines for customers needs utilising MSproject 2010,

Commissioned generators, up fitted new control systems, interfaced generator controls to change over systems, conducted G59 testing on major mains / multiple generator systems, acted as site agent whilst carrying out a complete installation of new generators including ground works, building works, fuel systems, sync / G59 acceptance to local power authority.Expert on Woodward, DSE. Cummins Power Command generator a.m.f. & sync / load share controllers.

Built, wired & tested entire motor control and switchgear suites, travelled to Far East to take charge of 150 local engineers and work off shore in British sector installing new PLC control cubicles on gas / steam turbine upgrades
