CurrentAs a BS/MS Student Researcher in the Farren Isaacs Lab, I am at the forefront of developing groundbreaking technology aimed at diversifying any genomic loci of interest. Leveraging Multiplex Automated Genome Engineering (MAGE) and Conjugative Assembly Genome Engineering (CAGE), my role involves introducing hundreds to thousands of combinatorial genetic variants into the genomes of non-model microbes. Through meticulous experimentation and analysis, I am dedicated to advancing our understanding of genotype-phenotype relationships in diverse organisms, with a primary focus on cyanobacterium S. elongatus UTEX 2973. This project not only holds promise for elucidating genetic foundations but also offers potential applications in biochemical pathway optimization, protein design, and whole-genome recoding.
