I became a Primary Caregiver shortly after my mother was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in February 2012, and have remained one though her end of life, my executive wife’s IVF treatment and birth and care of my young daughter.Around the time of my daughter's first birthday, I started a successful at-home dad podcast that lead to a greater role in at-home dad advocacy. I became active in my local community February 2016, taking on the role of co-administrator of ‘Stay At-Home Dads North East Florida’, and was voted onto the National At-Home Dad Network (NAHDN) board at the national convention in Raleigh, NC October 2016. As board member for the NAHDN, I held the position of Sponsorship Chair, finding and negotiating a contract with P&G and Albertson’s for HomeDadCon’s first ever $25,000 title presenter in 2017. In addition to helping with the planning of HomeDadCon Portland 2017, I was involved with the initial ground work for HomeDadCon Orlando 2018. I am currently the Membership Chair, driving the NAHDN to expand membership and services beyond convention planning and social media. It is my goal to normalize dads as primary caregivers for their children, thus providing greater support for families.
