About David Mcgillicuddy

My career in structural engineering has evolved over a span of more than 30 years in the seismically active San Francisco Bay Area, California, which is located in the seismic Zone 4 region and subject to some of the most severe earthquake demands in the nation. My working experience in earthquake country has led me to specialize in the seismic evaluation, design and retrofit of building structures locally, as well as in other seismically vulnerable areas throughout our country. I have performed seismic evaluations of existing building structures in the seismically active regions of California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington State, Utah, Arizona, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alaska, and Hawaii. Additionally, my working experience includes construction management, forensic investigation, seismic risk assessment (PML), and commercial due diligence assessment, and I have authored more than 700 seismic risk assessment (probable maximum loss) reports. My project experience includes public infrastructure (schools, hospitals, airports, municipal) commercial, residential, water, wastewater systems and water storage structures, including 4 years’ experience with design, rehabilitation, and project management of water/wastewater systems with the East Bay Municipal Utility District.
