Noaa Liaison
Served as liaison between American Embassy Jakarta and NOAA programs working with Indonesian partner agencies (science and technology, ocean research, fisheries, meteorology, tsunami warning). Developed science and technology partnerships, formal bi-lateral agreements, research permit and other permissions to support the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer expedition (INDEX SATAL) to Indonesia in 2010--the first time the Indonesian government had granted a permit to a U.S. government civilian research vessel to operate in Indonesian waters. With its counterpart BPPT and its ship Baruna Jaya IV, the Okeanos Explorer conducted the first-ever deep water exploration of the waters in the Sangihe Talaud region.
