As a field service engineer for IT Focus Ltd., my roles were to act as a liaison to the client accounts assigned to me and also resolve any IT related issue on site or remotely. IT Focus was a fast paced working environment with customers that had many varieties of computing platforms and infrastructures, so it was vital for Field Service Engineers to keep up to date and also to be disciplined when it came to dealing with time management and client issues.

As part of the Managed Service Agreement between HP and Bank of Ireland, as IMACD engineer it was my job to monitor and resolve any tickets that arose in the IMACD SLA Queue. IMACD stands for, Installation-Move-Change-Addition-Deletion. So a typical day could consist of building 10 new PCs for a Bank of Ireland department, then adding software to another PC, removal of a legacy PC system from the network and replacing it, moving PCs from one department to another and so on.

A short term contract to join the MOP IT Support Helpdesk. Daily tasks included resolving issues for members of staff such as issues relating to the iManage Document Management System, network issues, etc. We also managed the London and American offices via remote link.

My role in Blackhall Place was as a member of a 5 person IT Support Team for staff & students. We monitored and maintained several servers running Microsoft Windows Server 2000, Microsoft Exchange 2000 and Active Directory; managed the use of 114 WYSE & HP 5500 Thin Clients running Citrix MetaFrame XP Server application software. I was also involved in the setting up and troubleshooting of PCs (Windows NT - XP), Printers and Software. I assisted as a liaison for the Law Society Website.

Systems Administrator: - including Technical Support, Computer Hardware build, maintenance & repair; Software installation, configuration and troubleshooting; gained a Good knowledge of MS Windows NT, 2000 and numerous software packages.
