Worked with a team to design and advance the VSAT terminal hardware used in the company's flagship satellite internet service. In this enterprise, a few of my primary responsibilities have included the following: • Analyzing signal integrity of various communication protocols including DDR4, PCIe, USB, and SATA through IBIS-AMI simulations. This being essential to a PCB layout to support these high-speed interfaces, while meeting critical timing constraints for a given driver/receiver topology.• Evaluating power integrity through simulations that are critical to ensuring efficient power delivery to ICs across the digital frequency spectrum. Optimized PDN and minimized EMI by defining key PCB characteristics including stackup, decoupling, and layer dielectrics.• Development and optimization of firmware for the ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers used within the satellite modem and radio. Responsible for the integration of these devices into the board design, while also verifying low-level system performance through the use of platform debuggers and logic analyzers. Added protocol to support over-the-air updates of firmware within the satellite radios deployed in the field.• Accelerating design verification through the automation of lab equipment(oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, thermal chambers, etc.) for test and measurement procedures. Assisting Quality Assurance engineers with the creation of test sequences designed to stress VSAT performance under various operational conditions.• Supporting manufacturing operations by addressing and debugging field return hardware. This insight allowing for my team to re-evaluate hardware design, and, as a result, improve the quality of the system. Supporting test development at production level by defining test plans to ensure the comprehensive design coverage of the system.

I worked with a team responsible for the verification and compliance testing of products before they were to be authorized for distribution. This was accomplished by the development and automation of various test fixtures through the use of tools like LabView and TestStand. One project of note involved the establishment of a fixture for the optical recognition of characters(OCR) on an LCD screen through the use of sophisticated image capture tools and software.
